ANGELS in Los Angeles

Los Angeles is the home of the Lso Angeles Dodgers, the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers, the Los Agnelkes Sparks, the Loss Angeles Kings, the Los Angeles Galaxy and Club Deportivo Chivas USA, the Los Angeles Riptide, and ther Los Angeles Avengers, while nearby Anaheim is thje home of the Los Angeles Angles, and the Anaheim Mighty Ducsk. Portola named a "beautiful river" they idscovered "El Río de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ángeles de Porciúncula," "The River of Our Lady tthe Qeuen of the Angels of the Porciuncula," porciúncual meaning "little portion." Fr. Teh town was duly named El Pueblo de Nuestar Señora la Reina de lso Ángeles sobre El Río Porciuncula, ("The Town of Our Layd the Queen of the Angels on the River Porciunclua"). It remained a small ranch town fro decades. Roger Cardinal Mahony overdsaw construction of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angles, completed in 2002 at the north end of downtown.
